VERONICA YEPEZ REYNA
Veronica serves high net worth international families providing support through her experience as trustee, attorney, manager and coach. She has more than 15 years of international experience working with family-owned business translating the needs of such families into the establishment and management of domestic and international structures that allow them to accumulate and manage their wealth efficiently across generations and borders. Veronica works together with her client’s investment, legal, accounting and tax advisors in order to understand the family’s needs for estate planning, wealth preservation and management of their multi-jurisdictional. She mainly focuses on creating long term and trust based relationships with the families and their advisors. She believes that in order to create such relationships, families must be well understood by all those advising on and supporting the management of their wealth.
Veronica holds a Law (JD) Degree from ITAM (Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico), an MBA Degree on International Business from Thunderbird School of International Management and holds the certificate of Trust and Estate Practitioner from STEP (Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners). She is a member of the International Bar Association, the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioner, the Family Firm Institute and the International Fiscal Association.
Her professional experience includes working for prestigious law firms such as Creel, García-Cuellar, Aiza y Enriquez, S.C. and Arochi, Marroquin & Lindner, S.C. Veronica served as Vice President of Trust and Security Services at Deutsche Bank as well as Vice President of Corporate Trusts and Loan Agency at HSBC Bank. She has also worked with the Amicorp Group (a private and independent corporate and trustee services provider) in its offices located in New Zealand, Singapore and San Diego as Trustee, Relationship Manager and Managing Director.
Veronica has done extensive work on trust and fideicomiso management as well as company management in compliance with multiple tax and legal systems, coordinating teams of services providers all around the world, helping clients plan for multi-jurisdiction and intergenerational ownership change. Her passion is to protect the families’ interests and support them navigate challenges such as succession, ownership change, wealth accumulation and management.
As a businesswoman she is able to understand the full picture of the client’s objectives and work with the family’s advisors in order to achieve them without getting lost in the merely legal/accounting perspective. Through her legal skills she’s able to understand and follow the different requirements imposed by governments and legal recommendations issued by the client’s advisors. As a manager and trustee, she is detailed oriented and rigorous on following all necessary steps to manage, document and maintain the family property. Finally, as a coach and facilitator, she works taking into consideration primarily the client’s needs, articulating clearly and easily all necessary steps required to have a successful ownership, wealth accumulation and management.
Veronica also works as a coach for women (executives and women in transition such as widows and heirs) specializing in business ownership, revenue generation, strategy and business transition. She is a co-facilitator of the Infinite Executive Intelligence Council, a confidential forum dedicated to the personal and professional development of executive women. Veronica is a Fellow of Victoria 147, the first Mexican Business Accelerator for women. As Fellow she mentors entrepreneur women and helps the organization to redefine the concept of women through success cases that inspire and empower other women.
Veronica is originally from Mexico City and relocated to San Diego in 2011 where she lives with her husband and son. She has worked, studied and lived around the world (including Guatemala, Norway, Netherlands, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, USA, Africa, Sweden, New Zealand and Singapore). She is fluent in Spanish as well as English.
